The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) confirmed that it is the sole authorized entity in the State of Qatar to issue the Medical Fitness Certificate required for pilgrims intending to perform Hajj in 2026, in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf).
To facilitate the process for applicants, the service has been developed and transitioned to an electronic medical records system “Cerner”, ensuring speed and accuracy of procedures. The medical assessment results are linked directly and securely with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, in line with the standards approved by the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Qatar Hajj Mission.
The health assessment period has already begun and will continue until October 31, 2025. Pilgrims can visit any PHCC Family Medicine Clinic in the mornings and evenings throughout the week, either by appointment or as walk-ins. The service is provided free of charge for holders of valid health cards, while a nominal fee of QAR 30 will apply for those with expired cards.
The eligibility criteria and standards have been set by the competent authorities, requiring that pilgrims be free from complex medical conditions such as: functional failure of vital organs (heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys), neurological or psychiatric disorders affecting cognition or behavior, dementia, high-risk or late-stage pregnancy, active infectious diseases, or cancers undergoing treatment.
PHCC stated: “We are always committed to facilitating access to our health services, and we exert our utmost efforts to ensure the provision of comprehensive, integrated, and safe healthcare services in line with the highest quality standards.”
